Snowman Craft Ideas for Kids

Winter is the perfect time to enjoy some snowman crafts with your children. Here are a few easy snowman craft ideas for kids. Snowman crafts make darling decorations for the winter. Have fun crafting with your kids!


  • Paper Bag Snowman Craft for Kids

  • Items needed:
    • 2 white Paper bags
    • Newspaper or Scrap Paper
    • String or Yarn (18")
    • Construction paper for hat, nose, eyes, buttons
    • Glue

    1. Open paper bag. Crush newspaper and stuff into the first bag.
    2. Open second paper bag and carefully pull it down over the stuffed bag (bag #1)
    3. Tie yarn/string around to make a separation for head and body of snowman.
    4. Add eyes, nose, mouth, hat and scarf. The embellishments can be cut from paper or drawn - let your child's imagination go wild.


  • Snowman Soup

  • Items needed:
    • 1 package hot chocolate mix
    • 2 Hershey kisses
    • 3 regular sized marshmallows
    • 1 small candy cane

    1. Make hot chocolate according to package directions - but make it in a bowl.
    2. Add marshmallows, kisses and stir with a candy cane. YUMMY!


  • Doily Snowman Craft for Kids

  • Items needed:
    • 3 white doilies (1 small, 1 medium, 1 large)
    • Glue>
    • 12" by 18" construction paper

    1. Ask your child to build a snowman with the 3 circles.
    2. Next, glue the circles on the construction paper.
    3. Add eyes, nose, mouth etc with markers, crayons or cut from construction paper.


  • Snowflake Picture

  • Items needed:
    • Snowflake sponge or stamp (available at any craft store)
    • White tempera paint
    • Glitter
    • Black or dark blue construction paper (large is better!)

    1. Dip sponge in paint and print on paper.
    2. While paint is still wet, add glitter (silver is best!). This is messy but beautiful.
